Tummy Tuck | Abdominoplasty

A Tummy Tuck, or abdominoplasty, is a surgical procedure designed to remove excess skin and fat from the abdominal area and restore the tone of the abdominal wall. It is particularly effective after pregnancy, significant weight loss, or in cases of abdominal laxity due to aging. The result is a flatter, firmer, and more harmonious abdomen.

The procedure involves an incision in the lower abdomen, concealed within the bikini line. Through this incision, excess skin and fat are removed, and any abdominal muscle separation (diastasis recti) is corrected. In some cases, liposuction is added to enhance the result. When skin laxity is limited, a mini-abdominoplasty may be performed.

  • Flatter, firmer abdomen
  • Removal of excess skin and fat
  • Correction of abdominal muscle separation (diastasis)
  • Improved posture and physical comfort
  • Low-positioned scar, easily hidden by underwear or swimwear
  • Upper and lower abdomen
  • Periumbilical area
  • Flanks (if combined with liposuction)

The procedure is performed under general anesthesia and lasts approximately 2–3 hours. One overnight stay is typically required. After surgery, patients wear a compression garment and must avoid sudden movements to support healing.

Recovery takes about 2 weeks. Swelling and tightness in the abdominal area are normal and gradually subside.
Results begin to show after a few weeks, with final outcomes visible between 3 and 6 months.
The effect is long-lasting, especially when combined with a healthy lifestyle and stable weight.

  • Abdominal skin and/or muscle laxity
  • Diastasis recti
  • Bulging abdomen after pregnancy or weight loss
  • Excess skin following bariatric surgery

Is this procedure suitable after pregnancy?

Is the recovery painful?

Tightness and mild discomfort are expected in the first few days, but can be managed with prescribed pain relief. Normal activities can usually be resumed within 2–3 weeks.

Can it be combined with liposuction?

Yes, liposuction is often performed along with abdominoplasty to refine the waistline and improve the final result.
