Lower Face & Neck Lift

The Lower Face & Neck Lift is a surgical procedure designed to address the visible signs of aging in the lower third of the face and neck. It restores natural, defined contours along the jawline and neck, correcting skin laxity, platysmal banding, and localized fat deposits. The result is a visibly younger, harmonious, and natural appearance.

The procedure is performed through discreet incisions hidden behind the ears and, if necessary, under the chin. After lifting the skin, the deeper structures (SMAS and platysma) are repositioned and secured to achieve a long-lasting and stable result. If needed, submental liposuction or lipofilling can be performed to optimize facial volume. Excess skin is then redraped and removed without creating tension.

  • Redefined facial contours
  • Correction of neck skin laxity
  • Reduction or elimination of platysmal bands
  • Visibly fresher, firmer, and more youthful appearance
  • Long-lasting rejuvenation without a “pulled” effect
  • Lower third of the face
  • Jawline
  • Under the chin
  • Neck

The procedure is performed in the operating room under general anesthesia or local anesthesia with sedation, depending on the individual case. The average duration is 2–3 hours. Patients may be discharged the same day or stay overnight for observation, based on the extent of the procedure.

Recovery typically takes 7–14 days. Swelling, bruising, and a feeling of tightness may occur in the first few days but gradually subside. Results are immediately visible and continue to refine over the following weeks.
The effects are long-lasting, typically between 7 and 10 years, but this can vary from person to person. The longevity of results depends on many individual factors such as genetics, skin quality, natural aging, lifestyle, sun exposure, and smoking. Combining the procedure with non-invasive treatments can help maintain the results over time.

Will there be visible scars?

Incisions are carefully placed along the natural lines of the face, typically behind the ears and, if needed, in front of the ear. The final appearance of scars depends on individual healing, but in most cases they become subtle and well-camouflaged over time.

Is the procedure painful?

Postoperative pain is usually mild and well-controlled with pain medication. A sensation of tightness or swelling may be felt in the first few days.

What is the ideal age for a Lower Face & Neck Lift?

There is no specific age. It is recommended when sagging skin and muscles can no longer be corrected with non-surgical treatments. Typically, patients are between 45 and 70 years old, but it depends on the individual condition.

How long do the results last?

Results typically last between 7 and 10 years, but this varies from person to person. Longevity depends on genetics, the natural aging process, lifestyle, and whether complementary treatments are used. Each individual ages differently, and results may evolve over time.
